The metal end/jacket came off of my primary HDMI cable (to TV). It's a 12' run and I don't have another cable this long (ordered a replacement though). Is there a way to fix this cable, at least temporarily? The rest of the cable is intact, just the male end came off, exposing the metal prongs on the cable.] 12/22/2011 10:46:01 PM |

I suppose you could cut a chunk off the plastic end and solder the tiny wires onto the correct places 12/22/2011 10:51:07 PM |

you could splice a new end on by cannibalizing a regular length hdmi. 12/23/2011 8:45:56 AM |

HDMI is such a flaky hardware implementation to begin with, I can virtually guarantee you that splicing shit together would make it fail hard. Get Amazon Prime if you don't have it and have them overnight you a cable for like $10-12 total if you're in a super hurry. ] 12/23/2011 7:03:24 PM |

by the time you figure out how to repair this, your new cable would have arrived. 12/24/2011 9:05:19 AM |

You should cash in the warranty on the cable too, it most likely has a lifetime warranty (and if it's a Best Buy brand cable, they'll swap it in store). 12/24/2011 12:04:01 PM |
