^^^^thanks for the effort

I saw the electric ones, but it felt too gimmicky of a gift and mom generally doesn't like gadgets. The one I got was like #1 top seller that wasn't just a mechanical corkscrew for $5, so hopefully it works out.

if you can't open one with a waiters corkscrew you just need to give up and drink it from a box...

no I'm not a wine snob; you just don't need $50 worth of gadget to handle what the $5 model does better, cheaper, and for 1/50th the cabinet space. You should instead get a bottle of nitrogen or a wine vacuum pump with all that cash.

All I have are the waiters corkscrews

its just a gift bro

Nowadays I'm just getting higher quality gifts that you normally wouldn't overspend on, since no one knows what they want

this works good if you are desperate but you might have little pieces of cork floating in the wine

It is also very difficult to break the bottle at the neck in such a fashion that the contents will be consumable.

are you people really that lazy that you need $40 electronic wine openers to decork a bottle?

with a basic sommelier corkscrew you should have all you'll ever need.
