lol, i never even really knew what it was until i just wiki'd it now. It's the only holiday specifically for black people. crazy. I thought it was some african tradition thing. nope. It was invented in the 60s some chick. It just sounds like a mixture of christmas and jew christmas cause they have gifts, sing songs, decorate w/lights, and then light a menorah. Although they don't call it a menorah, they just call it the candle holder with 7 candles. Very interesting.

MLK day may not be created solely for black people, but it's celebrated by and large by black people

i have no problem with MLK day or the recognition of those who fought and sacrificed to further civil rights...black history month, however, is an insulting response to white guilt
