In light of this news, I feel that the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq were justified, as well as the trillion dollars spent on the war and thousands of American Soldiers' lives over that time.

My friend who watches this stuff notes that the Persian press has at best downplayed this occurrence if it even bothered to report the story. It's safe to say that the Iranian government has decided that it would prefer to rattle the saber a bit longer instead leveraging the event to try and thaw relations. (Not that we did any better in the past, but for this particular event...)
