it sounds incomplete.

you've got a good skeleton here.

what i'd do is tighten it up - from all angles.

get more crisp with the guitar during the verses. it's too muddy right now.

perhaps get rid of 2-3 of the verses. it drags too long.

obviously adding a rhythm section to help the song build would do wonders.

and try to incorporate more of a solid hook and chorus.

it isn't my song though, it's an American standard and that's how long it is...I just tweaked it to remove the ragtime feel to the vocals...I have drums done for it, but they didn't help very much.

I think you need to change it more though, perhaps use more inflection in the vocals. It sounds like nirvana/metallica right now, and not as good. As someone who is not musical, I commend you for putting it together. You are a far better musician, that being said, as the song is right now.... eh, sounds like a filler song because the band got too lazy to lay down a whole album.

all the good musicians had haters at some point. That is what tww is here for, to make you feel like shit so you will play better music

I found an old version I did in 2009 that we did as a band

we only worked on this after everything else so I never had much of a voice left
