How do you tell a "friend" that he/she is way behind times and just because one of there all in one HEY THIS IS FUNNY SITES says it's new, does not mean it is new to the rest of the world. I mean shit one person posted the I Don't Need College paper like it was done last night.

I can't even go around saying old, no one gets it and it comes off as being an ass.


There needs to be a site with a lot of internet jokes and their dates to show just how old they are.

I know several people that haven't even made it to the posting things that are 5 years old stage. They're still in the making bookmarks for google.com, target.com, amazon.com, etc. and making printouts of info from sites they visit stage.

This has been a problem ever since myspace or facebook has been in existance....for us on TWW at least. One thing this place is good at is finding new stuff relatively quickly.

Back when I was taking flying lessons, my flight instructor would always send forwarded emails of stuff like this. I'd get a few every week. I still remember the day he discovered lolcats.

if you want to be polite and you feel you MUST say something, then comment like "haha I saw this once...forgot all about it"

or you could just hide the posts if they bother you that much, or "unsubscribe" from those friends, but normally I only do that if they aren't relevant to me anymore, but it keeps them listed as a "friend"

I usually troll the shit out of them, saying how old the source material is, then explain why it was funny at the time with a little bit of history, current even, and fun fact about that time period. That way, everyone on my friends list doesn't post shit unless its completely new... even if its a few hours old, I will point this out.
