Sorry to have made you waste several hours, but sounds like you figured it out?
10/18/2025 5:26:12 PM
^^I'm gonna say because you're onlyAI wouldn't have made this mistake. It would have made a much worse one and then doubled down on it.
10/18/2025 5:51:00 PM
I was using AI to help me write the bug fix and it had access to the entire codebase it should have realized that photos are hashed and saved me from my human-ness [Edited on October 18, 2025 at 6:00 PM. Reason : but yeah i got it working now. gonna run a few more tests then deploy later]I admonished codex for its mistake and naturally it replied

Interesting. So how come sometimes it was fine and other times it would rotate?
10/18/2025 6:16:57 PM
^^Why do they code it that way? I don't want a sycophantic fake friend who lies whenever it's convenient.]
10/18/2025 6:18:50 PM
photo files contain metadata about things like camera rotation (and geolocation, etc) which tww removes before saving to the server. i'm applying the rotation to the photo before saving it now

After this i bet theres like no more bugs (if there are tell us where to look for them and i will try to replicate and assist!)
10/18/2025 6:45:45 PM
there's at least 1 bug i know of[Edited on October 18, 2025 at 6:48 PM. Reason : i might be the only person who has ever noticed it though]
10/18/2025 6:47:34 PM
I think you are wrong. The code is pristine.
