I managed to name 681 cities but it took over half an hour and lots of guessing. How good can you do without looking anything up?

I also got 62% of North Carolina's population, but barely 25% of Massachusetts where I live now.

Start typing the names of cities/towns with 5k+ populations where it says "enter guesses here." You can ignore everything below the blue box unless you are into sporcle stats.

in 30 minutes I got:


367 cities
33/50 top 50
27.5% of total population
71% of NC (12 cities)

that was tougher than I thought it was going to be. If you have a strong knowledge of metro-area suburbs (especially if you lived there) and California in general, you should do very well. I had neither.

You must have had more than 12 NC cities...the counter on the bottom left is the number of top cities if that's what you were looking at

I feel like I went brain dead and couldn't think of many NC cities...I didn't do too well in CA or TX (where I thought I would have done better). And states like WY, ND, SD all had very low totals for me.

It shouldn't take that long for an American born, college-educated citizen to type out all 50 states, especially while looking at the map. Took me 1:45.
