i once read somewhere that the average american gets food poisoning approximately once a month, and may not even realize it.

also, salsa and guacamole account for 25% of all food poisoning cases in the USA. pretty crazy statistic if you think about it.

i suppose it would vary how long it takes to set in, but my guess would be within a few hours at most.

How does it qualify as food poisoning if you don't actually notice? Are they just counting that as ingesting the bacteria that cause it?
