"Fuck all police" Pretty blanket statement there. Be careful what you wish for, one wont be there when you need one.
Not all cops are bad, but the bad ones are all you see because the story is so dramatic. Videos of cops doing their daily routine are pretty boooring. If you saw just those videos you would think differently.
From the cops perspective, things are different. Most of his calls are because someone needs help, someone did something stupid or someone broke the law. Get exposed to this everyday and how do you think the cops view us? Throw in your stupid narrow minded "Fuck all police" comment and how do you think they feel? So, when a cop encounters someone they have no idea what they are gonna get and therefore they are spring loaded to defend themselves. Just some insight, not giving them a pass and the dude kicking him in the face and the one that broke his ribs should have been fired on the spot.

These dash cams are a double edge sword too. I think because of them actual police brutality will go down but the occurrence of seeing videos like this will increase and people will perceive this as an increase in police brutality.

the article is making a big hubbub over the fact that this guy was entering diabetic coma and not blackout drunk. If he was intoxicated or even just a schizophrenic off the meds, would kicking or punching someone who is on the ground and surrounded by 5 cops be acceptable? I certainly don't think so, but the article's insistence that it makes this case particularly horrible kind of suggests that, and I'd bet these cops are used to beating up drunk people -- and getting away with it.


The so-called good, sane policemen who make our world a better place should strike in protest over unpunished police brutality and endless abuse of power. They of all people should be unafraid to stand up to the true "pigs." Can you imagine a public protest against police brutality going wrong? Their lack of action upon witnessing the perpetrators in an event such as this receive a punishment disproportionate to the crime time and time again, in my mind, makes them a bit complicit and and definitely doesn't help the world as so many people suggest these "good" officers do.

The problem isn't bad police.

The problem is good police doing nothing about bad police.

The problem is good police standing by while bad police murder people. Or falsify reports. Or erase video tapes.

The problem is internal investigations that find no wrongdoing in a bad shoot.

The problem is bad police facing no charges and only receiving a reprimand for committing crimes that would land a person in prison for years.

The problem is the "Us vs. Them" mentality of a brotherhood of thugs who feel that they're entitled to be above the law.

Most internal investigations only determine if policy was violated; criminal investigations are conducted by an outside agency. They only document what happened and its ultimately a D.A. who decides if charges need to be filed. (Speaking of N.C.)
