Wondering if anyone has had any experience with anti-perspiration applications.

I tend to have underarm sweat in JUST my right armpit...not my left nearly as much.

anyone used the clinical stuff or had any luck with random home remedies?

I thought it was workout related at first, but after dropping 15 lbs. it still happens.

feel free to add to this, not just underarm.

I have always sweated (from my armpits), a lot. Like, within 30 min of wearing a form-fitting non-black shirt, i would have visible sweat marks. In high school both my friend and I were prescribed "drysol" by our dr's. It definitely worked, but you had to apply it at night and let it dry or it would ruin your clothes. I haven't used it in years but it was definitely very effective.

I seem to have grown out of it a bit, but I definitely still sweat more than the average bear, whether it's cold, hot, I'm sedentary or working out. And oddly enough, the pit stains on my right side are always more prominent than the left

I use certain-dri (OTC drysol) and it works pretty well.

I had issues with perspiration in high school and college. Tried Drysol and Certain-Dri and they would work temporarily but ultimately I would still sweat.

I have 30 pounds in the last year and really cleaned up my diet and have noticed that I am not having any issues really anymore. I do sweat a lot more than normal when I work out still

I had a roommate like this. Overactive glands or some shit. Room stank to high heaven. To make matters worse, his name was Keith. Dude never heard the end of it.

I have had this same issue for a few years. It is only my right armpit, I rarely ever sweat much from my left unless I am doing extended physical activities (Whereas my right armpit sweats when I do just about anything... even driving or typing on the computer). If you happen to come across anything that actually helps please let me know as well!

stuff is amazing. i used to sweat through 2 tshirts, but now i'm bone dry even after a workout. the best part is that after a week or so of daily use, i only had to use it once every couple of weeks. it's really itchy at first, but totally worth it. HIGHLY recommend

I always thought I was allergic to Certain Dry, or irritated by it or something. I guess if the itchiness is normal I'll give it another shot.

Yeah its normal, goes away after you use it regularly for a while. Try using it every other day to get started. If you use it too often it can make the itching/irritation worse.

certain-dri works the best OTC but can get red and itchy if you apply to skin that deodorant normally doesn't touch. Bottle says 72 hours and thats about right. As a ritual I apply every sunday and wednesday night.

And get the liquid, not the deodorant, it flakes way too much

I'll second (or fifth?) the Certain-Dri because it works amazingly. I used to use it regularly years ago and it seems to have altered the way my body perspires, because I don't sweat nearly as much from my pits as I used to

This seems to happen to me the day after I drink a lot of whiskey for some reason. Always the right armpit.

This thread persuaded me to drag my CertainDri out from the back of my cabinet. The first time I used it, it was really itchy again, but then I looked it up and people encouraged applying it pretty sparingly, not more than two swipes per underarm. I had been applying it the way I would normal deodorant (so a couple strokes to make sure I'd covered the whole area). I tried two strokes this weekend and was itch-free. And I've only applied it twice but already notice a difference. So just FYI to the itchy people: apply less.

I shave my armpits. I don't have any input about clinical strength stuff, I just wanted to say if you don't shave your armpits then you should start.
At the very least your overactive armpits won't stink as bad if you shave them.

You can say ~ all you want, the fact is shaved armpits don't stink as bad and I'm ok with that

sweating is a normal body function. don't be a hater, even if you are a mono-pit perspirer.
