Anyone done the taste testing before? I've been filling out the surveys for a few weeks now and finally was eligible for one. Yay free food

Yeah I doubt it'll be enough food to constitute a meal but at least I get a $30 Target gift card for showing up.

I, too, have eaten Guinea Pig. In South America (Ecuador). True story.

But I did not get a Target gift card. Fail.

It is legal to eat guinea pigs in the US, in case anyone was wondering. I looked it up.

My neighbor raises rabbits for food. I assume you can do the same with guinea pigs

Pretty sure you can eat any animal, other than people.

In HS, my AP Bio teacher was a graduate of NCSU's Food Science program. She did taste testing all the time and it wasn't always fun -- sometimes it's butter/margarine.

What's wrong with eating butter?

But they do tell you upfront what you're going to be taste testing so if it doesn't sound like something you'd enjoy you don't take the survey to qualify.

I thought I saw something recently to where you can't domesticated animals, being cats and dogs

I wanted to try cuy in Peru, but it was always served as a whole guinea pig. I strongly prefer my meat to look like meat instead of the animal it's from.

I did try alpaca, though.

^^^^ Nov 2010

Alpaca was OK; didn't try the cuy, because of a mental block due to it coming out on the plate looking like ^
