I lived there for a few years. Several different bar districts there worth hitting up.

Hyde Park - Check out MacDintons on a Friday night, $10 all you can drink from 6-8 so everyone goes there for happy hour. Tons of bars near there such as The Rack (good sushi, good bar) and the Dubliner.

Ybor - historic area, main strip looks like Bourbon Street. The Tampa Bay Brew Co is there, good place to day drink on patio, good beer. James Joyce is a decent Irish pub there and they have their own midget. Gets a little ghetto later at night.

Channelside - Touristy, cover charges, expensive. But its a court/circle of bars/restaurants, so maybe worth checking out if youre bored. Right in downtown

Definitely worth going out to St Pete beach, about a 25min drive. Take the Gandy bridge their (southern most of 3 bridges to st pete) and eat at the Crab Shack. Hands down best seafood ive ever had. Go to the Undertow bar on st pete beach, possibly favorite bar ive been to. On the beach, bartenders in bikinis, awesome bar. Also check out the Hurricane bar in Passa Grille. Rooftop bar the looks out towards the gulf.

Know a few outdoorsy things to do further outside city if youre interested (lazy river).

Also, strip clubs. Mons Venus is famous, although incredibly shitty.

2. Ybor city for happenin nightlife
3. Salvador Dali museum in nearby St Petersburg. (even if you're big not into art..his shit is tight)
