Quote : | "MILTON, Del. (AP) — A Delaware woman has been charged with threatening to blow up an elementary school.
Police say 48-year-old Lisa Thomas was arrested Friday morning after saying that she would blow up Brittingham Elementary School in Milton.
Police say she was charged with disorderly conduct and felony terrorist threatening.
Police say Thomas entered the school and started cursing and shouting at the staff, and then went outside and threatened to blow up the school. The school was placed on lockdown.
Capt. John Cornwell tells the News Journal of Wilmington (http://delonline.us/zhgvfw ) that Thomas was released on $2,500 unsecured bail and ordered to have no contact with the Cape Henlopen School District.
A phone message left at a listing for Thomas was not immediately returned Saturday.

What's wrong with this story?
Felony: Take away her right to vote.
Take away her right to bear arms.
Thomas was released on $2500 so she can go blow up the school Releasing her means she can still carry out the threat.
Thomas was ordered to have no contact with Henlopen School District................ because someone who they think is going to blow up a school is in the right state of mind to listen to dumbasses who delivered the verdict.
So what did she really do? She probably got mad, lost her temper, used free speech to tell them what she'd do if she could get away with it.... but she can't (due to lack on bomb making knowledge, effort, and sincerity) so in the end it's just a person with a big mouth. Nobody was in any real threat of really being blown up. 3/10/2012 2:01:51 PM

you are confusing "charged" with "convicted". 3/10/2012 2:04:44 PM

the problem with that is... how are you going to talk your way out of felony terrorist threatening when anything can be viewed as threatening?
"I'm going to ___(verb)_______ " can be viewed as a threat to at least 1 person in the world for whatever reason at any given time.
There is no sensitivity meter to judge how threatened you have to be in order for you to be convicted. If just one person feels threatened... or less... if the POSSIBILITY of someone feeling threatened exists, even though nobody is, then you can still be judged guilty.

Even a shitty lawyer will easily plead that down to communicating threats, which is a misdemeanor. 3/10/2012 2:19:44 PM

that is what a threat is. It's not just views as a threat, and it is a threat, by definition. 3/10/2012 2:22:33 PM
