And how do they spilt up classes? do we use our own guns or theirs?

I mean if i use one of my monster bolt action .30 cals vs some punk with a sem-auto varmint gun i'm going to lose, unless they get points off for every miss.

Is this what biathlon folks do in their "off season", or is this just mountain bikers being creative?

It's not uncommon in places like Australia to combine cycling with other sports besides the tri sports...
they'll do sailing or kayaking, for example.

There's also "ride and tie" events that combine horseback riding and running.
