I don't know if this guy is still teaching but Arkady Kheyfets wasn't great but had decent testing policies, and by decent I mean liberal.

Study. Ask questions when you don't understand. I remember having to put in quite a bit of work outside of class to understand the concepts.

^^ i had him when I took it. He's a great professor.

He used to give his homework via Maple. It wasn't too hard as long as you do what ^ says

The worst part about Calc 3 was drawing. I am terrible at drawing three dimensional figures.

If you can integrate in Calc 1, you'll integrate just as well in Calc 3.

This guy used to teach calc 3 at my high school. Dude champions maple. honestly I did ok and could solve the equations and such but NEVER knew what the hell the volume or projection or random 3d object was supposed to look like.

I took Calc 3 in highschool- I was pissed when they made me take it again in college. I just showed up for the tests and maples. Even though I got an A in the class, dude man still failed me because of attendance, even though I told him at the beginning of the semester that was my plan and he was fine with it then. he thought I would still at least come to some of the classes

I had to work to get good grades in Calculus, but I can confidently say Calc III was the easiest by far........Calc II was by faaaaaaar the hardest.

Calc 3 is a class that few pass. Might as well not bother. Unfortunately due to the complexity and degree of specificity there are no tutors and it will be difficult to find help online. Drop out of school

Shouldn't be to bad as long as you remember the "tools" from calc 1 and 2. I took 1,2,3 with no problem. So when I got to state. They were check out all these computer programs. Do this Do that. I was like I have to learn another program language =(. If maple was involved now I would be fucked. Give me a ti-86 or 89 and some paper

Teachers that curve grades don't do you any favors. If you only know 33% of the material and the teacher curves the grade by 60 points, then you still only know 33% of the material. That's 67% of information that the teacher jewed you on that you're supposed to know before passing the class.

Yes they do... You have to go to a local college to take them. I did this in Highschool and had to go to NCSU to take it. So when I came into NCSU, I didn't have to do any more math classes.

or your school has so many that qualify for calc 3, that they bring norris over to teach it and diff Eq in your senior year - that was case for me

Depends on the high school. I took calc 3 at NCSSM, but had to take it again my Freshman year at NCSU. Easy A.

Calc 3 is way easier than Calc 2 imo

If you have to take DiffEq, just take it with Hong and you can get an A by memorizing 10 equations

I made the mistake of taking calc 3 honors, terrible idea, it was too early in the morning and I just stopped going after the first or second test. That was probably why I did better in calc 2.

I don't have to take DiffEq, I will have to take Linear Algebra though, is that doable over the summer?

There was no curve or if there was it wasn't much. I mean we got a little extra time, which given the exam, I really needed.

I don't know about other public schools here in NC. I know that Cal 1 was the highest here at Athens Drive HS in Wake Co, as I took that class my Sophomore year. Other high schools may vary. I took Cal II my Junior year at NCSSM followed by Cal III spring semester my Senior year. I took stats my Fall semester my senior year. I'm sure there are other S&Mer's on here who can back me up on the mathematical course selection available at NCSSM. No BS. Heck, here's the course catalog at NCSSM accessed via http://www.ncssm.edu/ :

MA422 AP Calculus BC (II): Contemporary Calculus
MA424 AP Calculus BC (III): Contemporary Calculus

Linear Algebra is a joke. My class was multiple choice and you could look at the choices and usually figure out the correct answer or plug them in to surface the right one really quickly.
