I remember when I was getting bullied.... My dad taught me to fight. I mean, not well.. I probably would have gotten my ass whooped if the teachers hadn't broken it up, but the guy still left me alone after that.

Bullies are just part of growing up... can we teach kids to not be pussies?

Bullying can contribute to or exacerbate mental health problems such as depression, and things associated with them such as suicidal tendencies. Sorry, but I think trying to prevent bullying is a fine idea.

suicides are darwin's new way of reaching out and touching someone.

however... people need to realize, sometimes when a bullied kid comes into school and shoots a couple people.... those people may have had it coming.

Going out on a limb here...

So competition is being taken out of schools, like dodge ball, kick ball, pretty much anything with a score and a winer. And schools are making it where everyone gets a trophy, everyone wins and nobody can lose.

Is it possible bullying is getting worse because the bullies can't dominate in games and other competitive things? IDK if it's an accurate correlation, but it would be damn funny if true. So much effort spent at the elementary level to make everything "fair" then leads to more aggressive bullying, that would be a game changer.

No wonder bullying is a big problem that gets swept under the rug... most people responding here seem to be 'ok' with it. I don't see anybody condemning it, in fact, it is being condoned.
