Got one today after putting in a ticket on no signal in my apartment. Evidently RTP area is oversubscribed and not scheduled to get upgraded any time soon, so they gave me one for free with little questions on my part.
Anyone else got one? Tricks with it? 3/23/2012 3:03:17 PM |

I have one. I put it in the DMZ behind my router instead of what they suggest. Works well. 3/25/2012 7:05:38 PM |

I've had one for three years. Works fine, so long as my shitty Roadrunner is working. If the Roadrunner blips, so does the phone signal. Awesome to be in the middle of a call and hear the chime as the signal cuts out.
I look forward to moving out of a neighborhood that refuses to have anything to do with modern technology. 4/1/2012 1:32:17 AM |

I have the att version.. I roam in my own house. I also don't like that it sits on my network and I can't login or see the traffic outbound (encrypted). I'm thinking about creating a separate vlan for it 4/1/2012 12:42:14 PM |

If you have AT&T and they won't give you one of those devices, then I suggest a Spotwave z1900 if you can find one. Not sure if they stopped selling them or what, but I have one in my office, which is a complete deadzone, and it works great.

so can you not lock down the femtocell to only approved cell traffic? 4/1/2012 8:08:08 PM |

so if you get a good enough cell signal in your house, this is pretty much pointless right?
i would've liked one when I was on Nextel, but Verizon works fine] 4/1/2012 9:25:25 PM |

Well I have 1-2 bars and never have dropped calls, but 5 bars is better on my battery life if I happen to forget to turn on wifi. You can also pay like 5.00/month to have any minutes on your femtocell not deduct from your plan minutes, but that's pretty pointless. Greedy too imo because at the end of the day, their cell networks are less congested. 4/2/2012 11:24:27 AM |
