Some of those are completely racist, but I'm sure the others just weren't picturing Rue as being a black girl, even though it clearly says dark skinned, and were mildly disappointed because she wasn't cast how they were picturing her. I wouldn't call them racist, but those other people definitely took it too far. I haven't read the books, but I thought it was a great movie, and an excellent cast.

^^^ Yeah, but when Marvel started the Ultimates line of books, they intentionally designed Nick Fury to resemble Samuel L. Jackson. He took interest in this, and let Marvel use his likeness officially for the character. As they say, life imitates art.

Gyllenhall is half Jewish and at one point, Persia included Israel within it's empire. All the other characters were "brown skinned" so to speak but the main bad guy is part Indian - which is in Asia. Anthropologically speaking, Gyllenhall is the most Persian of the cast.
