just pray she doesn't forget to take her birth control.

then you'll be married with no rings, and stuck with a payment for 18 years

maybe I'm in the minority but I am not bothered by rings and I have several that I wear every minute of every day. I can't remember the last time I took them off. I'd like to think that if I had a well-made, valuable ring there would be very few situations in which it could just be "lost".

I'd be more concerned about finding and reattaching that finger.

I left a ring in a bathroom in LaGuardia, I was only gone for a matter of moments! I went back in and it was gone! I really loved that ring, I picked it up at a ren faire and it was cute. Another time, I left a ring in the locker room at Carmichael, I came back an hour later and it was gone too. I never lost my engagement ring though, by then I learned just to never take it off unless I was showering or going to bed.

Which reminds me, I still need to figure out what to do with that thing

Did you buy the engagement ring?

At least your MIL gave her all the shit she needs and allows you to take the high road.

For once, me and smc actually agree on something. I know it is all tradition and stuff but spending that much money on a shiny piece of metal that has no practical use is ridiculous. What is even more ridiculous is that society has most people convinced that this is a normal practice and that men are expected to spend three months salary on it.

That being said my girlfriend is ridiculously materialistic to the point where I know she'll be just the same way. I'll definitely be getting insurance though.

Ring insurance is always a good idea. I've been thinking about doing that for the past four years now.

I lost my wedding band last weekend. I think I accidentally buried it into our retaining wall foundation Thankfully it was only a $40 ring so it won't break the bank replacing it.

Damn, I thought the days of women building retaining walls for you ended as soon as you put a ring on it.

What the fuck IS the highroad in this situation? If you act like it doesn't bother you the crazy bitch might flip out and wonder why you don't love her

yeah, I gave up on trying to be cool years before I even started being an actor at renaissance faires. I originally had typed just faire, but then I thought maybe someone might think I spelled fair wrong and that I meant state fair... I guess I could have gone over the edge and typed fayre

Can we see a pic of her and you?

So we can decide if she is worth another ring or not.

neither titanium nor tungsten is expensive if you get it online...so you can have your tradition and only spend $20

^Yeah that's fine for a wedding band but for an engagement ring, if you find a girl that will accept titanium or tungsten for the love of god don't ever let her go.

do you guys not have insurance on the ring? it is a great piece of mind to have (especially when you are married to someone who can misplace something with ease)

definitely add the replacement (if you get one) to your homeowner's insurance policy, assuming you have one. it cost <$10 annually to add my rings to our policy.
