"Goat of the Week

Mario Williams, DE, Buffalo. You can excuse a preseason of no production, because no one cares about the preseason. But no team had the kind of crisis the Jets had at right tackle in the preseason, dumping starter Wayne Hunter in favor of the untested Austin Howard, and on Sunday, Williams got nothing done playing across from Howard. This much of nothing: one tackle, zero sacks, zero quarterback hits. A pathetic opening display for a man who will make $40 million over the first two years ($1.18 million for his no-show Sunday) of a six-year, $96 million deal.
"

I'll go on record as saying that his career has been a slight disappointment so far (and this isn't a knee-jerk reaction to his first game...it's an overall observation).

He's had some above average stats...but for being a #1 pick and having his physical attributes...he should be a game changer. That really hasn't been the case.

it's one game back from a season ending injury. meh.

also http://blogs.buffalonews.com/press-coverage/2012/09/mario-williams-left-fuming-about-no-calls.html

getting repeatedly hit in the face will lower production.

I think when healthy he's been very good and occasionally game changing. He has been hurt too much though.

Compared to Bush and Young though he's been a home run.

Bush really hasn't been that bad. He hit the 1,000 yd mark as the Dolphins #1 back last year and averaged 5 yds a carry to go along with 300 receiving yards. That's a really good year. He struggled his first couple years when they tried to make him the feature back, but he's been a decent weapon since then and looks like he's finally capable of carrying the load as a starter.

I don't think he's too far behind Williams as far as production goes.

^^ And Williams sounds like a bitch in that article. Hit the guy back and/or quit being a pussy.

Dude was about to cry on the sidelines after the play. You know sliding down at the 1 yd line had to be tough as hell.

Short article but good press for Andre

The one comment on it pisses me off though

Mario had a sack and a half. Nice to see Buffalo rebound after an abysmal first game.

Russell Wilson threw a game winning hail mary to Golden Tate last night as time expired. He also had a beautiful TD pass earlier in the game.
