I realize this thread is about me doing this thread every year.... which I am not. Hear me out, maybe I can offer some insight.
I am in outside sales, which is currently salary+commission, but will move into straight commission starting at the beginning of July 2010. I have been in this position since July 2009. I have competition from several direct manufacturing sales reps, large distributors, and local distributors. Here are the advantages and disadvantages of each:
Direct Advantages: Immediate knowledge of new technology, no middle man mark up, one shipping bill (paid by manufacturer or buyer of goods), access to larger range of non-commodity items, control inventory, have access to many distributors that can effectively sell their goods which increases market share, and set prices of commodity they manufacture.
Direct disadvantages: Typically have 1-3 sales reps per region (i.e. southeast, mid-atlantic, northeast, etc.) limiting the number of accounts they can successfully manage/cold-call, lack physical customer service or physical technical service available to or affordable for smaller users or altogether, are sometimes not trustworthy because they will go in behind their distributors that sell their commodity to one account in large quantities (i.e. they missed a big account, and have found out about it through a distributor selling their particular product) which leads to the distributor not selling their product anymore, have too many distributors selling the product ultimately driving the set.......

I've been here since mid-September 2001, and I have to say that I am sick of this website and the people on here. I dont really spend anytime on this site anymore, I just log in, post some shit in the PP, make up a random confession, PM it to someone, and log off.

-Padding is the greatest, most awesome way to waste time on TWW, when you are still under 23, not when you closing in on 30 and still living with your parents. "Taking over" Chit Chat was great. Yes I did post 1000 that time
-I don't care how wild that party was last night. Stop telling us. We all have exciting things going on in our lives, we don't need to hear about yours. Besides, you didnt do any of that shit you are bragging about.
-Keep posting the same stupid pictures. The new ones you come up with are lame as shit.
-Why do you people feel it is necessary to list all the people you see every day? Do you feel rewarded by doing this? Oh my God! You saw esgargs today? Run, run while you can.
-I don't care what you are thinking right now. No one reads the thread, they just post in it.
-CrazyJ has moved on and after a brief stint with nael doing nothing, qntmfred seems to be doing pretty good. By the way Joe never did shit but bitch and cry.
-Guys, stop kissing the girls' asses on here. I'm sure you won't get any. And even if you do, you will regret it later.
-Girls, stop flirting with the guys then complaining about the stalkers, its your own damn fault.
-BubbleBobble, stop bringing back this to the top. I will never post there, just like you will never pass jackleg.

- No one cares that you are quitting. I think that's the worst attempt at getting attention one can do. Yes, I am quite aware of the irony.
- And finally, you hockey people need to stop, hockey sucks.
