I couldn't decide if "classifieds" was the right place for this, but here goes...

I am looking for a film student/ film crew to come out and film a non-profit program we are doing at Mary Phillips High School.

I'd really like to partner with any professors that would consider giving the crew credit towards a project or something like that. If anyone is interested, knows anyone who would be interested, or has contact info for any professors/departments that I could speak with, please let me know.

Below is our webpage and contact info. More details will be given to those interested. Thanks!

Have you contacted the teachers that teach TV production at Enloe? They make some pretty awesome stuff and I could see high school students doing it for something to throw on their college application.

Happened in 2009 a month or two after school started. I was the guy that brought a bottle of vodka and drank it in the TV class if that rings a bell (I was a SMART kid back then). You would have been a year ahead of me (graduated 2002).

one way to pin down a documentary film maker is to clearly describe the STORY

you can't just say non-profit
give us the who, what, when, where and why
give us a peg to hang the story on (anniversary of some event is a classic)

give the film maker incentive to spend his/her time on the project

if it is just for promotional purposes then I'm afraid you're going to have to hire someone

when I worked with the Biko Arts Collective in Brooklyn (also a 501(c)(3) nonprofit) we had several excruciating meetings to nail down our mission statement: "The Biko Arts Collective is a group of artists dedicated to bringing the arts to the underserved area of East New York/Bushwick through public performances, open dialogue and collaboration."

What's your mission?

@snewf
this is from the "Mission" section of our website:
"The L.I.F.E. Foundation is an Educational organization founded on the belief that every individual deserves the right to gain a basic understanding of financial ideals, life skills, and career practices used each day in our country. Our mission is to help convey valuable knowledge regarding our basic financial principles and life development skills to any and all who seek our assistance, through various forms of communication.

The L.I.F.E. Foundation seeks to build and support our youth and young adult community through partnerships formed by loyalty, honesty, and acts of goodwill that will benefit everyone.

A more knowledgeable culture is our goal; we get there through Education."

We want to have someone film various aspects of a program we are currently running at Mary Phillips High School. The filming would probably only last a day and we hope to get this done sometime in the next month.

We will add the video to our website as a way to market ourselves to the community. When we meet with potential "clients" we will have something to show them aside from having them come out and see us in action.

I'll get more information from our founders and pass it along. But like I said, this is still in the beginning stages and with a summer that is pretty booked, its not a top priority. I figured i'd give it a shot on here and see what transpired.

It is a promotional thing, and something we could do ourselves, but wanted to partner with some department with a local college or highschool to get students credit towards a course, or simply something someone could put on a college app. If this doesnt pan out, then yes, we will look for other avenues...such as hiring a film crew, or doing it ourselves.

Thanks for the feedback!
