Yes. I didn't recognize Fast Five as being a fast and furious movie and accidentally watched it, thinking how terrible it was (i did at one point think to myself "this movie is just like fast and furious") then realized its part of this series. But it made sense in its own way although I have only seen the first.

They foreshadowed that a sixth one is in the works though.

I, too, watched this movie last night. It wasn't terrible by any means and how often do you get to see Vin Diesel and the Rock in the same movie.
