Y'all should totally read some of the stuff by Dr. Oliver Sacks, the doc in the video; he writes a lot about interesting neurological disorders. He actually has an entire book devoted to seemingly self-contained/catatonic patients like the one above that react dramatically to new drug treatments: Awakenings

no I get it, but we are not computers. It is the interaction between free will and how are brains are hardwired that makes this intriguing.

If every action causes a reaction then the particles in your brain where going to collide to make that decision regardless of free will.

He drinks 4-7 beers a day.

His advice to me was "Don't try to remember because remembering will just keep ya worrying"

More advice is "Don't worship money, cuz you can't take it with ya" even though he yells at me for leaving pennies and nickles on the counter unattended.

He also tells me the same stories every day.

I had to teach him how to call his daughter even though he was the one that taught me last month.
