What in the world is the M-, M+ bullshit on calculators that I always accidentally press? That shit is annoying and always messes me up when it "locks" on.

M+ is add to memory. It's if you need to remember a number displayed on the calculator without having to write it down or anything.

M- deletes it from memory.
