A little over $1/sqft for market rate. Less than that if you get in on a good deal. 4/23/2012 10:05:11 PM |

I have 3 houses off Lineberry Drive, the current rates are as follows (they are all going up $50 a month next semester):
3 bed, 2.5 bath, 2 car garage, 1600 square feet = $1250 a month
3 bed, 2.5 bath, 1540 square feet = $1200 a month
3 bed, 2.5 bath, 1460 square feet = $1200 a month
Hope this info helps... 4/23/2012 10:25:30 PM |

thanks to both. Are any of those houses available starting in June?
What are the best sites for searching? (is craigslist best?) Or maybe searching thru a rental company? 4/23/2012 10:30:09 PM |

^ just looking for a ballpark, and I got it. Any websites you can recommend? Google "ncsu rentals" doesn't turn up much. I suspect that craigslist might be the best but I'll take any suggestions.
For you, I'd recommend cars.com or autotrader.com for car prices 4/24/2012 12:17:13 AM |

I would just cruise through the areas you are interested in finding a rental, I only advertise with signs in the yards because I get about 10 calls a day once I put the signs out. I don't need to advertise anywhere else. I suspect other landlords do the same.
Good luck with your search... 4/24/2012 9:05:20 PM |

^^ sorry man, I don't have any basement properties, they typically require additional maintenance and i prefer my places to stay in good shape without a lot of work.
^ thanks, I try my best to take care of my tenants, I want everybody to be happy... 4/25/2012 11:00:10 PM |

I used these links to search for rental houses when I was looking for one. Though I don't know how good they are specifically for the NCSU area as I wasn't looking in that area. 4/26/2012 11:07:43 AM |

I liked padmapper, it scrubs craigslist (some others, too, but mostly CL) and plots them on a map for you.
I second the drive around and look for signs. The place I just signed on I found through padmapper/CL, but several others on the final list I found just driving around. 4/30/2012 10:48:17 PM |
