For a friend's surprise birthday party in Durham/Raleigh/Cary area.

Something fun, not lots of $$$, and can accommodate a larger group of people

She's also a vegetarian, so it would be great if they had yummy menu selections she could eat

Please help!

Neomonde is a Mediterranean place with lots of indoor and outdoor seating and the food is awesome and can accommodate vegetarians too. I have a coworker that is vegetarian and this is where we would eat because we would both be happy. It is casual dining.

also, I highly recommend their pistachio baklava as dessert, very good!

All that I can think of off hand... have vegetarian options... good luck.

EDIT: I just saw online that Neomonde is not only a good place to eat but is vegetarian friendly.

I often use Neomonde catering at work since they are delicious and vegetarians can't bitch about the options lol.

If you are willing to go as far as Chapel Hill there is a fantastic vegetarian place called Sage: http://www.sagevegcafe.com/

Udupi is another great vegetarian place in Cary:http://www.sriudupi.com/

Or another fun place with meat, vegetarian, and vegan options is Mawa. It's BYOB too! http://www.mawa-nc.com/

I don't know that I would hold an adult birthday party at Neomonde considering how limited the alcohol selection is.

Last time I walked by that Ethiopian place in Mission Valley it looked abandoned. Anyone eaten there recently?

Olive Garden
Mellow Mushroom
Neomonde's is good, Jasmine's is also good, closer to NCSU, and in my opinion, more authentic and yummy. I haven't been to the Neomond's restaurant though.

Capital Club 16

Good veggie options, bigass table in back, good atmosphere, not too expensive.

How has no one mentioned Irregardless? They always have a number of veggie-friendly options.

Irregardless was originally a veggie-only place. Arthur softened up over the years.

thank you for recommendations, I'm going to run these by the husband. Keep them coming!

and yeah, she's not a pescatarian. I always feel bad because when I visit and we go out I always choose a place that's a carnivore's dream and then I realize my two friends are stuck eating salad. Trying not to do that again
