Downtown detroit maybe,

but if you have never been to Birmingham/Royal Oak/Ferndale (detroit suburbs) there are literally thousands of cities I would chose detroit over.

any city in a state with an abhorrent education system, also where it snows more than 100 inches a year, or there is not even a job market for Ken. Those cities. I don't know what's at the bottom.

I grew up there, it's the fucking truth.

It's a city that used to be a big deal, but then all the industries there collapsed (textiles, tobacco) so it's just a sad husk of a city that steadily declines in population and is the syphilis infection capital of the south.

Detroit is not even that bad. It sucks compared to other major cities but it beats the hell out of cleveland buffalo and cities like that.

if you're into cars in any way Danville is host to one of the best private race tracks in the entire country, Virginia International Raceway. They have public track events and races there all the time.

And wtf, Danville is the "north"? It's less than a 2 hours drive from Raleigh.

I can only base my response on cities I have actually visited in person.

That being said, Buffalo is a shit hole. Huntsville, AL is a close second.

Very briefly, and that was enough to turn me off. Plus it's too fucking cold in Michigan in the winter.

Everyone suggesting a moderately populated city obviously has never lived in a small town. At least you have decent retail outlets in [insert previously mentioned cities here]. I have to drive an hour to go to Target or a decent grocery store or anywhere to buy clothes/shoes...

Also, Danville is terrible

As far as cities go (I don't really consider Danville a city although I'm sure it's a shitty place to live) I'd probably say Kansas City or Indianapolis. I've never been to KC but Indy was a straight up shithole when I went with nothing really interesting or redeeming about it. It seems like the entirety of Indiana is obsessed with its sports teams (namely the Hoosiers and the Colts) and I've gotten enough of that shit living here as it is.

anyway my guess is Aguila, AZ, it's deathly hot like the rest of the Southwest, it has a small population far from modern civilization, and that scumbag Joe Arpaio lords over it (and it's not exactly "friendly territory" re: him either, because it's over 2/3 Hispanic): https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Aguila,_Arizona

I want to say Rocky Mount NC to give some props to snewf, but where I live now, warren county nc , you actually have to DRIVE an hour to get to the swill-pot of nash county for any kind of commerce.
so, macon, nc is my answer

How can anyone forget Lumberton NC or Emporia VA. Both of those places are like being in a 3rd world country.
