I recently secured a domain name for a website i'd like to start where I can post a blog, pics, and other stuff related to a small business I'm starting. A friend last night recommended using WordPress to build my site b/c its easy to use and is free. But I purchased the domain name through Godaddy. Is it possible to build my website using WP and then have it run through my own .com name? Otherwise I may have to hire someone to help me build it cause I have no clue what im doing

have you properly degaussed your domain name though the XML OAuth Regex CloudServ? you only have 24 hours after domain name registration to do that - it's critical.

yes you can do that you just upload the files via ftp to godaddy. i did the same thing as you a long time ago using MS Frontpage.

From what I hear, WP is very useful but still not trivial to set up, as in, you really probably want to get help from someone with experience doing it. The good news is that you probably shouldn't have a problem finding such a person.

thanks bigman. Ya i don't have hosting or anything really. Pretty new to it all.

and I don't want a blog to post about the website, I just want the website where I can upload articles, pics, and an occasional blog about my work. Doesn't need to be fancy (can't be too fancy on a budget here) but want to be easy to navigate, have like a home, about, info, contact tabs, some cool pics, and also the ability for me to make simple changes when I need to

WP is very easy to use... I usually install in a wp folder and move that index shit out.

Takes like 5 min to set up without the cPanel shit.
