It's actually kind of defensible that he was more responsible than the women. He seems to have never argued for joint custody of any of these children... perhaps recognizing that he's not responsible enough, doesn't have enough resources, and would generally suck as a parent. All facts I don't anticipate anyone disagreeing with.

Had any or all of the women taken the same position, the children could have been put up for adoption or found themselves in a foster home.

Just b/c something pops out of your vagina doesn't make it obvious that you should assume responsibility of it. Men don't have this problem because things don't pop out of their vagina.

I have mixed feelings on a lot of pregnancy and child support issues.

It is the woman's responsibility to not get pregnant. She can prevent herself from getting pregnant if she wants to. If she doesn't, then she is lazy or irresponsible. Aside from rape, there is really no excuse 99% of the time, with the 1% being the failed birth control. Even with rape, I still think that adult women should be on birth control, regardless of whether they are sexually active. It prepares them for the uncontrollable situation of rape. It also removes the awkwardness of "Hey, I'm gonna let you hit this. We just have to wait a week or two for me to see my doctor and a get a prescription for birth control, and then like 30 more days for it to start protecting me. In the meantime, you can continue jerking off."

With that said, I'm not surprised that a lot of low-income (read: poor) women get pregnant. The lure of sex is so strong that it's hard to resist letting a man unload his spunk inside the stinky hole. Condoms are free, but again, this places the responsibility on the person who cannot get pregnant. Birth control should be free. While some of you will argue that you buy your own because you're responsible, and I feel super happy for you, it will ultimately be less expensive for taxpayers to prevent pregnancy than to support indigent children. I've heard you can get the pills for free. Why can't they provide the shot for free? How many women have gotten pregnant because they forgot to take a pill? It would just be so much easier if women could get the shot for free.

If pregnancy does occur, a man should accept 50% of the responsibility for the child. In my experience, most women think that getting pregnant means that the man should "support" her AND the child. And by support I mean pay for everything. This includes buying the mother new clothes, taking her out on dates, paying her rent, etc. This is fucked up logic.

Having a child after someone impregnates you does not equate to you doing a great service or favor to the father. Unless it's planned you've done more harm than good for his life. I'm sure you've all seen posts on Facebook where some women justifies her demands for new clothes or rent money because she had some guy's kid. This is fucked up logic.

The other side of this coin is that fathers get a bad rap most of the time and the majority of mothers are unfairly characterized by a few gold-digging chickenheads. The guy who has 30 kids is simply having unprotected sex without thinking of the consequences and then refusing to even attempt to provide for each child. I think it's great that he has a job, even if it is minimum wage. If he had two, I'd say he's actually trying. There are plenty of fathers who only have one child and work two low-paying jobs to help the child get ahead in life.

There are also plenty of mothers who take it upon themselves to work and provide for their child when the father is a piece of shit and won't assist with the financial responsibility that their child is morally owed. We celebrate the octomom like a circus sideshow, and condemn the mother with the 3rd shift job, who is a week late on her rent because her kid got sick and needed medicine, by calling her irresponsible. This is fucked up logic.

Having one child is not the end of the world. Women who have four kids and can't make ends meet usually don't just magically end up that way. There are exceptions, but it's likely that they couldn't afford the first one and struggled after it was born. This process repeated itself with the second, third, and fourth child. Instead of stopping after one, they either ignored the increased financial burden that loomed in their ovaries and welcomed the spray of some hot spunk, or are simply so dumb that they don't realize how they are made. One child should not ruin anyone's life. One person and one child can survive, not thrive, on 40 hours of minimum wage.
