I highly recommend a trip out to the http://www.pik-n-pig.com/. It is an awesome weekend lunch destination. Good bbq and you get to watch planes come and go

I second Ken's Grill, but if you're driving that far on the way to the beach wait until you get to New Bern and go to Moore's BBQ

Durham: Backyard BBQ Pit

Nothing as good within 10 miles of where I live (morrisville), thats for sure.

Went there yesterday ... bbq plate with mac and cabbage. You know it's a good bbq place if even the cabbage is awesome ... that's all I'm saying.

I get the bbq if I am eating there. I get the ribs if I am eating at my desk or at home, cause I look like a messy fool droolin all over them awesome ribs.

Yep, especially for lunch. And damn tasty.

Hell their lunch plate is only $1.50 more than coopers, and you get arguably better pork, and easily better sides and ambiance...and a biscuit

Do they have a Western section on the menu? I crave it.

I'm sure they have sauces with ketchup in them, if that's what you crave.

Are you on welfare?

Seriously though, if you're worried about an $8 lunch being affordable you probably shouldn't be eating out for lunch every day.

Also it's fucking stupid to compare the Pit, or any BBQ restaurant, really to a dollar menu.

Well, to be fair, he's usually beasting the McDonald's dollar menu (and drinking a bottle of bourbon in his car?) for lunch.

Anybody see/try this Longleaf Swine place? They're opening up in Oakwood Cafe's old spot. They've been doing pop ups so far. Prices seem bananas to me. Brisket is like $26/lb. Chopped pork is $16/lb. Potato salad $8/lb etc
