My son and I both have a C2-C3 fusion and my daughter has a suspected fusion. My son actually has posterior elements of his C1 also fused with 2 and 3.

We have no pain. Stiffness and a limited range of motion, but almost no pain. My only difficulty came with an impact injury in middle school that landed me in ICU for several days with numbness on one side. An increase in mobility above and below the fusion means that there is a greater chance of spinal chord injury leading to paralysis.

Uhm, yeah. Rock on. Have they recommended surgical fusion?

fusion is normally the last thing they recommend and over half of people come out worse after a fusion.

btw this film is probably 1.5 months old, so if I was attention whoring I would have posted in at least the first week.

I don't know about surgical fusion, but I can tell you that a congenital fusion is all but painless. Sometimes I notice stiffness, but that's it. The only real downside is that I honestly live in fear of some kind of accident (fall or blow) that will leave me paralyzed.
