Did anyone else besides Onslow County Public Schools get visits from the Pro-Yo II guy in middle school?

I mean i was just reflecting on this...and how insane it was that this happened

but this fat guy with a boiler actually was allowed to have us all assemble before first period and sell us yo-yos.

the yo-yos were cool as hell, and the fat guy could do all these amazing tricks but the damn yo-yos had a cork interior, and while it made it possible to trade colors with your friends, they also broke after about two weeks.

but never fear, because pro-yo guy seemed to sell the shits to us every month. EVERYBODY was walkin around trickin with yo-yos...or trying to.

How was this allowed to happen? This guy was basically allowed to solicit on middle school grounds, and the shits costed 8 fuckin dollars...and I dont recall the proceeds going towards anything. But, nigga, we all bought em anyway they were dope.





anyways, were we the only ones? I imagine made a killing off of this hustle of cheap ass yo yos

my Onslow County school had the yo-yo guy, but i was absent that day

it was strange to come back to school the next day and every other person i knew was suddenly yo-yo crazy

even stranger that a supposed institution of education saw peddling yo-yos to the student body was a valuable usage of time

Of course it was a valuable usage of time...kept the kids busy while the teachers smoked a pack of cigarettes or did a variety of other things that didnt involve teaching at all.

I came from the other side of the state. No yo-yo guy at the school that I recall, but I definitely remember everyone going through a yo-yo phase. Had a few myself.
