So my current doctor has sold my parents on the idea of an electromagnetic field generator that uses three different devices to deliver the field. Supposedly this mimics the natural field of the earth with how the coils are laid out in the 6ft mat. It's called the MRS 2000+

This shit has already cost a retarded amount to rent to the point we might as well use the money towards renting to buy if it actually works. Basically it makes you feel warm/relaxed while you lay on it, but is it actually doing shit?

It's been approved in the UK for awhile for post-Op care to reduce use of narcotics for pain and has been approved in the US for years. 5/30/2012 11:54:01 AM |

Wikipedia claims PEMF has been supported by numerous studies. From what I read briefly, it sounds like it might work and I haven't found anything debunking it. Of course, that only applies to certain conditions.... not sure why both of your parents would need to use this thing all the time anyway.
Regardless, the descriptions on this site sound like complete horseshit. Anytime you see words like RESONANCE (especially in all caps), get the fuck out quickly.
Quote : | "French scientist George Lakhovsky, whose work was inspired by the work of Nicola Tesla, viewed disease as a battle of vibrations between the body’s cells and pathogenic viruses and bacteria. If the cell was energetically weak, the invading organism could win this “vibration contest,” thus infecting the cell." |

Quote : | "When the cells vibration is restored to its natural state of RESONANCE this creates an ideal condition of resonance/coherence within the body so the body’s own intelligence can do the healing. MRS 2000+ simply replaces a very essential and profound element that has always been apart of life and is now lacking in our modern lifestyles. " |
When was it ever part of our life?
Further ... "Call for Pricing" on ordering page sounds like additional BS to me.
Interesting read: http://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=211721 ... and they talk about the MRS2000 being silly, and price it starting at ~3k back in 2008.
Of note from that link:
Quote : | "You don't need FDA approval for a device that doesn't do anything. And that seems to be the distinction: Some of the devices sold, such as the one referenced in the op, use field strengths and frequencies approximating what we find all around us - hence no FDA approval required. The devices referenced in the scientific literature have magnetic fields up to or more than 1000 times stronger. I have seen NO evidence from peer-reviewed studies showing that devices with a low field strength - approximating the naturally occurring fields already all around us - have any medical value." |

He was inspired by Tesla!!! The same Tesla that, had the government/Edison not kept him down, would have provided us with endless free energy and probably teleportation or some shit! 5/30/2012 10:12:20 PM |
