I fully understand how terrible it is to wear sock with your Sperrys. But I was thinking about purchasing a pair of Sperry chukkas to wear to work with khakis and was wondering if the no socks rule was still in effect in this situation...

I'm seriously considering buying some nice cowboy boots, something in the 300-400 dollar range and made of some animal that is not a cow. Maybe ostrich or alligator.

after much consideration, i sided with you. the white soles just took away from the boot.

i ordered these just to try on. if they don't work, i'll send them back. if they look good with my jeans then i'll oil them and make them even darker. i liked the low profile sole on these, not big and bulky like a lot out there.

Got these which have been awesome after they finally broke in to the point at which they stopped shredding my feet.



Was talked into getting these sneakers (apologies for the horrifying image quality) the other day by girls I was shopping with. Having second thoughts now as they might be a bit flashy for me (and they kinda look like bowling shoes?!?) but I like them so fuck it I just live.

^yeah, those are the clarks that i have. they are a top favorite. once you get some wear on them get some leather oil and go at them. will really clean them up, darken some, and make them look brand new again.

ended up going with these Timberland Earthkeepers. They are a lot more low profile than I thought, which is great. I thought the stitching would cause them to appear bulky but it's the opposite. Nice round toe, thin non-protruding sole and extremely light weight. Also, the leather isn't distressed like the picture. very happy with these.

^^Yup! I wear loafers every day, and I've been getting too many compliments on my current pair. These Weejuns should do the trick.

^I don't think I'm going to do the penny thing, but I am gonna start wearing a lot more madras. I'll probably freeze this winter, but it's worth it. We can go steady and make out at the drive-in--it'll be the most!
