Feel sick looking at the pics in that link.

Every single person involved in that industry, from the mothers and fathers to the organizers, from the makeup/tanning artists to the posing coaches, from the producers to the TV stations, should be eliminated from this planet.

The kids should then be intensively rehabilitated for a year on a remote island full of specialists and nothing but nature. (and kids' activities and educational toys)

Sad thing is... the cycle continues. She will grow up to be white trash, get pregnant at 23 (or 13), and repeat the sick cycle.

Trash begets raises trash.

Every parent is different and every child is different. Any situation can be made psychologically abusive. Pageants in an of themselves are no more abusive than any other childhood pursuit. It is whatever you make of it. Also, the tanning and all of the hoopla isn't necessary to compete.

Dance Moms is also entirely different...
