I didn't see a thread for it, so I thought I'd post the advancement of new LED technology:

I'm amazed. Makes me want to hold out on buying an LED, but it'll probably be 3 years or so until the LED LCD market takes a hit from the OLED technology. What say you t-dub?

first real sized tv's debuted in this year's CES. speculated price of 8k for a 55". won't be reasonable (3k or less) for a while. will be worthwhile since the display doesn't age. 4k is coming soon though

they are still a ways off since they are still having issues with the blues lasting. just to be clear led= lcd with led back lighting, so led tvs are really just lcds and unless you're buying anything but the top of the line led get a plasma anyway.

it's one of those things that is cool in theory but is taking them forever in the implementation

lotta phones have oled screens now though, so that's something

as noted in the article, if you want to pay a higher price for "better" tech, wait for sony's crystal LED...it should be available sooner and will be more affordable (by comparison to OLED, anyway...it's still going to be crazy expensive)

but yeah, it's already in phones...tablets and laptops will be next

if you want a TV now, just get one...if you need it in the next couple of years...just get one

I was more referring to a PC monitor I might just go ahead and fork out ~$175 for a 23" LED LCD anyway.
