I have this same sentiment.

Girls/Women I used to know replace every single pic on their profile with pics of their kid(s). Its cool to have pictures of your kid on your profile...but you still have an identity. I am guessing that is part of the reasoning behind the new banner pic on profiles, one can be for family and shit and one can be a head shot of the actual user but some have not figured it out yet.

i'm only slightly offended b/c I'm sure this is in response to my most recent WATYA posts. especially since the birthday is coming up and i'm kind of consumed in that right now.

this happened to my mom unfortunately. her kids were her life and now that we're all grown up and gone, she doesn't know what to do. her and my dad are retired, in their early 50's, and don't have any sense of self because everything revolved around the kids for the past 25+ years. now they're in this weird "self-discovery" period where anti-social tendencies and depression happens. i've recommended all sorts of hobbies / activities, but unfortunately it's not up to me to figure it out for them.

so yeah....this shit is real.

Also, I hate it when women are mean and bitchy to other women who do choose to have a life outside of their kids. It's crazy the amount of scorn new mothers get if they even dare to leave their baby in the care of someone else for any amount of time.

Last weekend I was overhearing two women talking, and the one woman was yelling at the other for not bring her child, and she said that she has been with her child since birth, he's never out of her sight really. The child looked to be about 3 or 4 years old was talking and everything. While I was a bit by that, it's not like I would be actually tell her she's fucking weird, she can do what she like.

I just feel bad for that woman's husband.
