I was in durham for work today and stopped by this place for lunch... Fried chicken breast between two Sweet potato waffles with flavored butter and a side of squash and onions... holy shit good eats.

Now granted I don't go out to eat all that much anymore, but I just wanted to put the word out for this place... it was delicious. The fried chicken or the waffles would have been good on their own, but the combination was superb.

Cost was under ten bucks before tax and tip too. (got water to drink, and it was lunch... not sure if dinner prices are different)

The service was excellent too. I chatted it up with my server for a while and she helped guide me to the perfect choice (and they have plenty of variety to choose from!)

Chicken is better at Beasley's. Waffles are better at Dame's.

Also had excellent service when I went there a while back.

I ordered poorly, and it was still good.

Somebody give me an excuse to go to Durham tomorrow.

I want hot wings and orange butter now.

I can't say everything is good, but I went there for the first time a couple weeks ago and got 1/4 chicken, mac/cheese, and mashed potatoes, and all of that shit was DELICIOUS.

thought beasley's had great chicken and waffles. but then again it was my first time having such a thing, so I have no basis of comparison.

my beef with beasley's was the chicken was overly crispy and poorly seasoned. it was extremely bland and overbreaded, though well cooked. the honey on the chicken was completely lost because there was no savory/spicy seasoning to contrast it. the waffle was nothing special and i thought could have been crisper. I've honestly had better waffles at waffle house and brigs. I tried nothing else.

I always drive by that place when they're closed One day they will be open and I can try them. I keep hearing their sweet potato waffles are the win.

Dame's owns Beasley's.

Beasley's is good, but Dame's is on another level.
