Very serious! Considering them for my wedding favors.. if they're reasonably priced then I'm going for it.

They might hook you up if you're buying a large amount

ComputerGuy: I need approximately 200-250 at the very max. Thank you for checking

DivaBaby19: I know the owner of a wine shop so I shot him a FB message to see if I can get them directly from a distributor.

wolfpackgrrr: LOL! I really want something to represent NC since the wedding will be in NY. It'll be interesting to see what I end up with, though.

I liked your idea of the Burt's Bees and honey! Or you could do those mini tins of Moravian cookies they sell

^I know, but my Burt's Bees lip balm tins and NC honey were shot down to the max.

and Cheerwine is absolutely out of the question.

I'm dealing with very picky people, here.

If you want to represent the best that NC has to offer, NC wines would not be the way to go

I'm not sure how much you want to spend but a cookbook featuring a NC chef would be nice. Like the cookbook from Mama Dip's. You might be able to a wholesale price if you order enough.

I love the idea of Moravian cookies.

lol.. Thx for coming to our wedding, here is a cookbook.

# of wine drinkers>>>>>>>> # of people that cook

However, I also would go with something different. A local NC microbrew probably.

well it showcases something that NC is known for...Southern cooking

NC is not known for being a great wine state

Le Bleu bottled water is from Advance, NC

if you want to give something to go along with the beer

or to wash down the NC wine

For my destination wedding in Las Vegas, we had gift bags that we handed out at the rehearsal dinner. The bags had bottled water, peanut butter crackers, personalized playing cards and a $5 Starbucks gift card.

I've gotten about five mini bottles of firefly sweet tea vodka from weddings. I know it's from SC, but it represents the south. Or you could find one of the off-brands that is made in NC.

something about this math and the sustainability of life doesn't quite add up

but in all seriousness, Duplin wine isn't great but it does represent a NC specific varietal and even if the drinker doesn't like it they'll always remember it.

you could go with 12oz bottles of NC beer. but it sounds like you are dealing with a large group of tools who probably wouldn't enjoy that either.

I think she has a number of guests traveling to the wedding from Egypt

So probably stuff like Cheerwine would be far too sweet for them

Also when dealing with wine or beer, might want to consider the international guests and getting through customs

Or, you could get little bottles of good wine from wherever, not just NC (if the price is right), and make your own label. Assuming your relationship/marriage was "made in NC" it could go well with your idea.

They have mini NC cookbooks at the history museum. They're like $5 each. Or at least they used to. I haven't been in there in over a year.

When I went to the NC Wine Festival, I think there was three wineries/vineyards out of all the ones there that I actually enjoyed the wine. And all of them were from the Yadkin Valley. Really that festival just taught me I don't really like NC wine.

Or oooh about what Escazu Chocolates? One of the only chocolatiers in the country that roasts their own cacao beans and they're in Raleigh.

Larry's Beans are pretty pricey though. They do wholesale pricing but only after they make you jump through hoops and fill out applications (and get them notarized )

Here are some NC specific food goodies: https://www.southernseason.com/ppf/id/11/cat.asp

Obviously, Southern Season is super expensive, but they might be able to bulk something, or just give you ideas to find/make elsewhere.

I have tried it: aside from a couple types of Biltmore wine (made from non-NC grapes), NC wine is gross

1. most NC wine sucks
2. what doesn't suck is more expensive than comparable quality wine from most anywhere else in the world
3. what is quality wine probably doesn't come in splits (this refers to most wine, not just NC)
4. Distributors can't sell directly to consumers, but if you know someone who owns a wine shop, they can cut you a steep discount where it'll be close to wholesale price

But you can buy bottles of wine when you visit a vineyard. I know the rules are wacky when it comes to alcohol distribution but you can go directly to the manufacturer and buy what you want.

You can buy from a distributor fairly easy if the distributor is any good (and likes you). They'll just write it in as a cash account under one of their restaurants. Which also means you have to pay in cash though.
