I mostly wear jeans and sneakers at work. This is totally acceptable but I feel like I should probably step it a little bit because sneakers just feel frumpy to me. I work on a large manufacturing site and I do a ton of walking. Walking outside, inside, in dirt, in gravel. Heels or open toed shoes are out for safety and practicality reasons but ballet flats really bother my feet (and get rocks in them). I was thinking maybe nicer sneakers? Or those clarks that nurses work in? I don't work with too many other women but the ones I do work with mostly wear sneakers too. Suggestions??

See if Merrell has anything that you are interested in. I had a pair of Merrell shoes that I worn to death that were "hiking shoes/boots" but would have been acceptable in church. I hope to have another pair soon.

what about something like a boot or maybe check out keen. some of their stuff with the wider toe box/area at the ball of the foot can look a little goofy, but they're not all like that. they're very supportive, durable, & structured. they have a few models that have steel toes too, idk if that's something you'd be interested in.

yeah merrell would be another good brand to check out. maybe go by rei or great outdoor provision.

I actually wear steal toed boots about 1/3 of the day anyway. Sometime all day depending on whats going on so I was trying to get something other then a boot.

^ thats what I meant when I was thinking of Clarks! I hear they take some breaking in though. Good idea on Merrell. Their stuff is very comfortable.

I love my merrell camp boots (the call them moc). I'v had 2 pair over about 8-9 years, can wear them to work, church, doing yardwork, etc.

Or course, another type of merrell by do you better as well, I just know the mocs are awesome.

I wore a pair of Merrell Moab Ventilators all through college. I wore them until the soles are like racing slick tires. They are extremely comfortable and can be worn on a ton of occasions. church, shopping, work, hiking, you name it

I went into the Crocs store in Crabtree with my friend and I typically don't like Crocs, but I ended up getting this pair in black and they are very comfortable (without all the plastic and holes like typical Crocs). The only thing is that my feet get somewhat sweaty in them

I can swear by both Keens and Danskos as comfortable shoes- totally worth shelling out for both if they last you multiple seasons after breaking in.

There's a reason most women by the age of 30 are wearing Danskos, Clarks, Merrills or some other comfortable, solid shoe- comfort takes precedence over fashion or trends.
