Yeah it was getting crazy when I moved out.

Once day I look at our neighbors driveway and there's a little girl on a big wheels thing with her brother standing over her pissing on her head.

Another day a mother was walking up and down the street like an overloard sending her kids down to the front stoop where they'd strip recycle bins of cans.

Yeah they didn't even know the place was on fire. We were beating on their back porch window. I helped them haul out some speakers and other shit.

Wow- that was back in the day. How bout Grant who lived on that corner house who dressed up like teenwolf? HA!

I woke up one morning to a cop knocking on the window of my friend's subaru forester and was about 17 years old. "Ma'am- I've been called out here to check on your well being."

me: "oh, I'm fine, officer."

And he drove off.

The woman who's house my friend's car was parked in front of on bearskin brought me hot chocolate. LOL. OOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH hike school.

519, circa 2001-2002.

3 a.m. conversation with the police at the front doorstep:
"So you were asleep?"
"Yes sir."
"And your roommates had *this* going on?" (Gestures to the trashed first floor of the house)
"Yes sir."
"You should probably get new roommates."
"Yes sir."

And of course, from the same party, pouring out gallons of PJ that remained in a plastic tub at around 8 a.m. God knows what all the sediment in the bottom of the tub was...

And, the absolute high point, cleaning the blood from that night's fight off my squeamish roommate's car (who'd left earlier in the party) in order to ensure he'd stick it out for the rest of the summer.

^^FA SHO. Also, garage FTMFW. Somehow threw my bday party w/ roughly 200 people without a problem, had about 20 people over for a private bday party and got arrested.

lol, we went through 2 years of throwing multi-keggers every major holiday break, every roommate birthday, and a handful of times on top of that- no one that lived there got a single citation let alone arrest. that long curling driveway was the shit for concealing noise.

best story from brent rd: we were planning on throwing a 2 keg race for some holiday, so we sent out the fb invites, got all the beer, color coded the ish, and all day there was this sketchy undercover explorer parked in front of the mailbox across the street (535?).. we thought they were waiting to bust our party, so being sketched out we kinda kept an eye out the guy and he never left for about 5 hours so eventually one of us mustered up the nuts to go ask him what the problem was.... with all of us outside on the picnic table in front watching, just as my friend walked up to the car, the driver and 2 other guys jump out of the car say GET DOWN! like 8 other tactical squad members jumped out of some crappy unmarked cars with mp5s in hand and rushed into one of those houses on the odd side (519-527). apparently they were selling some hard drugs of some kind.

needless to say we had a great party

So I didn't get to State until after this got shut down, but my cousin lived there in the late 90s. He lived in the house where the porch collapsed during a party b/c too many people were on it. One of those people was apparently Jeremy Hyatt.

I remember someone on here having a story about Ron Kelly at a Brent Rd Party one year, something about him wandering around kicking cans.

I missed the good stuff when I got to State in 2001, though I did get to a few individual parties. Remember going to one with my suite mates from Bragaw. I think the drink served was PJ & maybe a keg. Regardless, the cops ended up showing up, and several of us (including myself) took off into the woods to chill for a while until they left. We came back and had a few more, but the two guys I was with started to do that drunk "play" fight stuff for like 30 mins. I'm not sure why alcohol makes guys do this, but whatever. We end up leaving by taking the Wolfline back to the dorm, but not without one of the guys trying to start religious wars with other riders. Anyway, we get back to the dorm & the other guy realized that he lost his key while play fighting. By the point the buses had stopped running, so I walked with my friend all the way back to the party just so he could search for his key & we found it!

Maybe it was

The one really crazy Brent Rd party I was at was my freshman year. It got busted up by the cops when someone called an ambulance because someone passed out. I ended up hopping into a random car that said it was going back to Bragaw (I was in Lee) that turned out to have a drunk driver. Thankfully they weren't doing traffic stops on Dan Allen.

I remember sledding down the hill on a trash can top (with a bunch of cars parked on the street). Probably not the wisest of choices.

Oh and also the couch on fire in front of 536/538 in '05ish.

so glad they shut down those parties so it could return to a healthy neighborhood full of law-abiding young families who own their own homes and take care of their yards and property. that was definitely a good decision, its such a beautiful neighborhood now with beautifully maintained single-family homes and young homeowners. great job turning around the neighborhood, raleigh.

one time ~2002 I caught a ride back to UT with a couple friends from some random dude. When we got there he locked the doors and told us to give him money. After arguments and threats my friend kicked out his window and we all ran away afraid he was going to call the cops. (i would have happily given him money if he asked for it when we left instead of when we arrived. hell, i was drunk, i probably would have given the dude $20)

There were a few deck collapses that I can remember. A friend of mine got sued over one, even though he was renting and not the actual home owner. I want to say that was when he lived at Falcon Ridge, but I was doing a lot of drugs back then so I can't be certain.

Those are one in the same, IIRC. The only injury was a broken ankle. It was basically a miracle.

I had a guy fall off my deck when I lived on Thea Ln. One minute he was sitting on the railing, next minute he was gone. He's lucky he didn't break his neck.

I believe the big deck collapse was at Falcon Ridge, the complex where heart and Zepher lived.

I remember being at a party in 07 or early 08 when a deck collapsed with about 50 people on it and fell about 15'. I was shocked no one was seriously injured.

I was on it when it fell, it was pretty wild.

I love that this thread is all war stories of deck failures.

Seriously, though, overcrowded decks kill people. With enough people, even living room floors will collapse.

Wandered down this way when we got a decent snowfall on obama's inaguration day (jan 2009)

Massive snowball fight, most of the residents had coolers full of beer and coolers full of snowballs, and it was an all out war. so much fun.
