I've seen a dude at ruckus drunk with kids on numerous occasions. he didn't appear to be Nicaraguan. Really, whats the big deal. Imo if you're drinking at a bar then you are not intoxicated in public. If you're not sloppy drunk, about to drive or picking fights then you aren't really endangering your child.I'm Krallum and I approved this message./]

if being drunk around a child is child abuse then everyone in my extended family has been abused at every family function that has ever been had

^Seriously. At least if he's at a bar, someone will stand up for the kid if he hits him. Unlike parents who get drunk at home and beat their kids, which is what this news report would prefer obviouslyI'm Krallum and I approved this message./]

In Ireland, the mothers would wheel the strollers right into the pub. True story.

hm thats weird people bring their children to bars all the time, and I dont like it but I let them in and just keep a real close eye on things and if the parents even get a little tipsy ill cut em offi wouldnt know if durham has some ordinance against that, i mean if raleigh can charge this dude with a crime for italso what will happen is theyll be there for dinner and the parents will just stay all night[Edited on July 15, 2012 at 3:45 PM. Yeah, I suspect it was another patron who called the police, not the bar. Otherwise, that would be pretty messed up of the bar to serve him and then call the cops...unless he showed up drunk, and they thought an intervention was really necessary. Also, I imagine this guy was pretty drunk to actually draw attention and get charged.Personally, I think it's messed up cause of the money. I would be so pissed if my parents drank away their paychecks at the bar...and then complained about the rec league fees for soccer or the cost of a Saturday matinee to see Madagascar 3 or whatever.

^^AHA, I'm saying...some guys go to the bar every day after work, and they smoke a pack a day.Assuming 2 drinks at the bar, and they buy cartons (not single packs), and they drink beer on the weekends...that's $12/day five days a week at the bar ($60), $15/week on cigarettes, and $10 for a half case of beer on the weekend while they watch football or baseball or basketball or whatever other sport will justify a few cold ones.52 weeks a year over 18 years...$79,560Depending on the parents' earnings, kid is liable to end up with no college fund and having to take care of some prematurely old man with emphysema and some kind of cancer.

If that's all he did I don't see the point in the charge. It might not be good parenting, but I don't see how it's child abuse.

Haha I have been to a bar with TWWers and their kids before, and taken mine once or twice as well. I didn't get faced or anything, but still interesting that you can get arrested for child abuse for doing this.

I used to frequently go to the Player's Retreat with my father when I was in elementary. In fact, Peter Eichenburger taught me how to play pool at the P.R when I was about 8 years old. And pin ball. And look how good I turned out!?
