For any of you with upcoming keeper deadlines or drafts...Vick hit his hand on his center's helmet, he seemed to be ok but it looked similar to what happened to Tyler Bray last year (cost him about 2 months). Just comes down to if something is broke or not.

Desmond Bishop hurt his leg in the Packers/Chargers game tonight, it looked similar to what happened to Kerri Strug in the 96 Olympics

oh I see, because it happens to be Bray you are being smartasses, how predictable. If you can name a QB that had a similar injury in the last year or so I will edit it.

probably closer to 2010 form than 2011 or 2009.

Something like 1,200 rush, 400 rec, 8-9 total TD's.

Probably overrated by someone in your league, not a target of mine.

I would have him around that, maybe a little more rushing yards, and fewer receiving yards

Whoa... 2012 Fantasy Darling Matthews broken clavicle, out 4-6 weeks.

PPR league with 5 point bonus for 100 yds rushing or receiving(not rushing+recv), 7 point additional bonus for 150 yds in either.

Got offered:

Steve Smith and Darren Sproles

for

Kenny Britt, James Starks and Victor Cruz

Cruz is a stud but the other 2 are question marks with high upside. Sproles is a PPR champ and Steve Smith might not match Cruz this year, but then again he might.

Would you do it? Give 3 to get 2, and nobody in this league has a lot of depth. Would leave my receivers as:

Jordy Nelson
Hakeem Nicks
Steve Smith
Heyward-Bey
J. Simpson
Kendall Wright

We can start 3 WRs and a flex

[Edited on August 10, 2012 at 5:13 AM. Reason : its a keeper league and Cruz is a keeper for a 6th round pick, so he has high value beyond this year]

I have the option to keep either Jamaal Charles for $11 or Lynch for $13 in a dynasty league.

I'm a bit worried about a Lynch suspension to start the season and Charles is coming off that ACL injury. Leaning slightly Charles atm but I've been waffling for days.

^^I probably wouldn't do it, unless you need RB help. Maybe counter offer with Nicks in place of Cruz?

^Charles. He's stated he's been feeling great, and I wouldn't worry too much about Hillis. Who knows how the Seahawks offense will be with a new QB, Plus, Charles comes cheaper!

What's the consensus on TWW about Cam?

Should he be QB3 and a first round pick like I'm seeing?

IMO Cam is in the 1b tier.

Behind Brady/Brees/Rodgers...Stafford. But above all other QBs. You are getting solid QB stats + decent RB output all in one player

I think his running numbers will be down some, hopefully passing numbers up some... definitely not first tier yet

He got the 5th most fantasy points of any player last year in most formats

Unless you wanna say the top-tier of QBs is only 4 quarterbacks and not 5, I dunno how he wouldn't be top tier

In keeper leagues, he's clearly the most valuable player in the NFL

Yup, Newton is a fantasy beast, and will be better this year. He probably won't have the rushing TD numbers from last year, but his passing TDs will probably be up and you've got to think yardage will be similar, hopefully negative stats will be down (INTs, sacks, fumbles, etc.).

Depending on your keeper league settings he may be the best player in the league to have, just depends on how Luck performs. In my start 2 QBs keeper league I went from Rodgers and Romo to jack shit this season now that I can't keep Rodgers again and Romo was ineligible as a 1st round selection, so I'll be looking to target Luck somewhere in the 3rd round or so.

Any other rookies or 2nd year guys you people like as keeper prospects?

I'd target Russell Wilson if I was in a keeper league. I'm tempted to snag him in my 2 qb league (non keeper) as a #4 qb but I hate not using those spots on backup running backs

Never did an auction, so I can't guess.

How do you think Welker will do this year? He was the #3 WR last year in our league, but with Gronk, Hernandez, and now Lloyd stealing targets...is he about to crash?

Is Lloyd going back to his WR1 days?

I have the 8th and 9th pick in my draft tonight. We've revamped the scoring system and wiped out our keepers this year so it's a fresh start. the revamped scoring will help curb some of the high output QBs but I still expect Rodgers and Brees to go 1 and 2.

being down at 8 and 9 i should probably just go with the top QB/RB available, but anyone have any other strategy to consider?

I got the top pick in a 16-team PPR. Who do you like best out of the top 3 RBs? I'm leaning towards Foster, but Rice is tempting.

why would Welker crash? he has good numbers when they had Moss and um, others. He might go down some just cause of his age but I bet he will easily get 90+ receptions and 1200+ yards.

MJD has survived the keeper stage and preliminary draft stage of a 14 team league... how? why? cant just be the hold out, I mean, you know that shit will get worked out. Gabbert sucks ass but he sucked ass last year and MJD was good... even if he isnt a top 5 RB this year, he is definitely a top 28 player... what am I missing?

So TWW can help me out on this one. I'm in a huge argument with my buddy because he wants us to go to an auction draft system because he claims a snake draft is unfair, that the person who picks first(or in the top 3 picks) has a huge advantage.

He is basically using the FF point totals from the end of last year to prove his point, saying whoever took Rogers first had a huge advantage. I keep telling him that in most leagues Rogers wasn't taken first, in fact he probably wasn't taken till the middle of the round.

I am not arguing with him on whether or not an auction draft is better, or more fun, just simply that a snake draft is a fair way of drafting. Everyone ends up with the exact same "average draft position" and anyone can win drafting from any spot. I actually don't like the first pick, because if you mess it up(like those years everyone took AP and he didn't deliver) you are basically toast.

Am I crazy on this one? He is really pissing me off trying to use end of the year stats when I keep telling him you can't use revisionist history like that to prove his point.

the main argument of an auction system is that everyone gets a shot to draft every player...In that respect it is more fair. But a snake isn't inherently unfair either, since the person that drafts first has to wait such a long time to draft again.

Really just whatever floats your boat

Yeah I'm at the point now where he is telling me to "prove my point" by trading him my spot in the draft for his if his spot is lower than mine.

To which I said fine, I don't really care where I draft in a snake draft. I prefer to draft at the start or at the end simply so I can make 2 picks fast and then go do something else or watch tv etc. I've won leagues picking first, last, and in the middle. I've also lost plenty with the first pick.

But I told him I'd only do it if he emails our entire league and admits he was wrong and I was right.

I'm in a keeper league and trying to decide between Megatron and Cam Newton. I'm leaning towards keeping Megatron because he'd be gone in the first round and Cam might still be tailing around into the beginning of the second round and be available to get anyway.

So, I dont know anything about Fantasy Football.

I dont watch much NFL football either.

Is it too late to join a fantasy league somewhere? I want to join one so I have some incentive to watch more football and learn more about the teams/players and fantasy leagues.

Any advice?
