We always had a weight limit when I played pee-wee football as well. We used to have to weigh in before every game. So this is nothing new.

^ I've been 6'1 since the 5th grade (11-12 I think)... it was junior year of HS before anyone I knew was taller than me. And yes, our bball team sucked ass.

I remember all the "bigger" kids used to run around the field in garbage bags to cut weight before games. I never understood it until I got to High School and became friends with some wrestlers.

But yeah, weight limits in rec league football (i.e., not associated with middle/High School) are pretty common, and should be.

the weight limit for Texas pop warner is 135 pounds

but its not cut and dry...you can play if you weigh more than 135 pounds but you have to have an X on your helmet and you have to play on either the offensive or defensive line

We had a fullback on my pee-wee team nicknamed "Truck". Dude had to cut weight every game, and used to weigh in in his underwear just to make sure. Dude was a hoss

theres always been a weight limit to pee wee league

i had to stop playing when i got over 175 pounds, which was 5th grade for me

i didnt cry about it it was what it was, i figured id wait another year then play middle school ball.

I was about to be all "shiiiit I was WAY over 135 in 7th grade and I was the fastest-pulling right tackle in Iredell County" but then I realized this was pee-wee league
