Anyone know about shore fishing at any of the lakes. Or any lakes that don't charge nonsense "usage fees?"

the eno runs through chapel hill, and then the jordan lake impoundments, one on 54 just past falconbridge shopping center...two down farrington road; one on stagecoach

impoundments are always a good bet, easy shore fishing plus there are little fishermens trails that run a long ways down the rivers that feed the impoundment and many casting spots. just watch where you park your car cuz niggas will jack your shit

seems like at the moment all the gates to the impoundments are closed, which means youll have to walk even further to them and pretty much leave your car by the highway (i tried to fish them earlier this week and they were all locked up) its still legal to fish there though, they shut certain impoundments down from time to time to flood the wetlands each year or they are doin some sort of maintenance just gotta make sure your safe

also new hope creek is real good fishing, runs through duke fores

theres not much for fishing in chapel hill, and i second uncle steve, follow his GPS coordinates

if you stop in at great outdoor provisions in chapel hill talk to jim (middle aged guy with a goatee) in the fly fishing section hell point you out where to go and how to fish these locations for the best success

i think it is early march in clearwater lake you can fish for free. but you have to keep the trout because theyll die anyway. the warmwater species you have to release.

jordan lake is pretty good. I used to go out there quite a bit and catfish from the banks. Pretty easy to catch some fish. I've heard of people have better luck from boats. If you want to know more pm me and I can show you on a map where I go and what I do to catch the catfish. They arent very big, but if you just want the trill of pulling in a fish its guaranteed to work.
