I have a 2b/1ba house. It's right at 800 square feet, and that's after the old outside-entry laundry room was boxed into the house.

I think anything below 1000 sq. ft. should be referred to as a cottage.

we recently moved out of a 2 bed/1 bath house. no idea what the square footage was. i thought it was great. wish i could've found something similar down here, but instead i ended up in a 3 bed/2 bath. the extra space is cool i guess, but not really necessary for a couple with no kids.

to be fair, i live in a 3/2, but if you took away one bedroom and one bathroom, itd still be well over 700 (probably double).

To answer the question, a significant number of the houses ITB are less than 1000 square feet, especially on the east side of downtown.

We lived in a 2br/1ba that was about 800 sq ft right inside the belt line. I definitely wouldn't call it's house. It was a cute little cottage though.

I grew up in a 2br/1ba house in Greensboro. 997 square feet. For just me and my parents, wasn't that bad actually, though only having the one bathroom was annoying sometimes.
