I always enjoyed hearing the Fountain boats being run out in the river as a kid. They would generally run them a good ways offshore. All we could see were the rooster tails. Don't hear/see them too much these days. From what I understand, Fountain cut its workforce something like 90% when the economy went in the shitter...

Any idea how they're doing now?

They filed bankruptcy a couple years ago and ended up being bought out by Liberty Associates and restructured. Apparently they filed bankruptcy again as ^ posted.

Reggie Fountain has a new venture called RF Powerboats. I haven't really heard much about them since last year. No idea where they stand now. They were building them in the Brooks Boatworks facility in Washington.
