So, I broke my jaw a few weeks ago.... I know, I know- crazy bidness. I fainted on my face and landed on my chin.

Anyway- I'm planning on having a chewing party in a few weeks as my jaw is getting stronger and stronger again. i'm currently pretty good at eating pasta and beans...

Hurr is a list of foods I plan on having at a chewing party. It should be in mid-october. The husband is entertaining the idea of Golden Corral (he usually wouldn't be caught dead in one of those...he's a republican) or some sort of buffet- but here's a list of food I'd like to have:

-Taco Bell Dorito Taco
-Salad with croutons and honey mustard
-BBQ sandwich from Wilburs in Goldsboro
-Hamburger (with avocado on it and tomato and bacon)
-Beef Jerky
-Ice cubes
-Turkey sub
-Crackers
-Snickers bars
-Supreme Pizza


Can anyone help me come up with food that may be really good? I'd like as much greens as possible.

my jaw went back in to place as I was crying profusely as I was on the way to the E.R....

The universe is crazy- and the magical human body is even more cray cray... in fact, my jaw would have healed just the same if I wouldn't have had health insurance and never went to the hospital.

$4,000 hospital bill ftL....and $70 copay when it was all said and done. This, off the subject, is why I will always support a basic universal health care. It could have happened to anybody.

i broke my jaw in 2 places in 8th grade and had it wired shut. bones do not heal on the way to the hospital. btw i got extremely skinny due to the liquid diet (6 ft, 120 lbs).

Not all fractures require being set. If it isn't a bad break and the fracture is stable and in alignment, they'll just ask you not to put any stress on it as it heals. I imagine that's the case here.

i got SO thin from that damn liquid diet. i was 5'2 and 85 pounds when they unwired my jaw. of course this happened in the summer right before school started back up so when i went back people all thought i had developed an eating disorder.

i still have problems with the one side of my jaw and i broke it nearly 20 years ago. i especially notice the issues when i have any sort of dental work done.

i was lucky though and i didn't need surgery.

I broke it, but the break was so close to the joint, that the broken portion reset itself- there is a little pinky-widge piece of jaw just chilling in my skull now.
